About THE E-SAN GATE

The story, the meaning and the approach behind the project

About Us

The E-SAN GATE

Open Up to E-SAN Experiences.

The E-SAN GATE is a collaboration among friends who joined hands to “open the gate to Isan” — a land rich in cultural heritage, wisdom, nature and varied experiences — offering ways of living and choices that are sustainable, with care for people, nature and culture.

The Symbol

ของ-ขวัญ

“Khong-Khwan” (ของ-ขวัญ, “gift”) is the name of the symbol that expresses who The E-SAN GATE is, weaving together people, objects, wisdom and the spirit of Isan.

  1. 01

    Interlocking spirals

Coiled circular patterns run through Isan craft and cultural objects — in the rope-impressed designs of painted clay pots and in cast bronze. The swirling, continuous form also evokes the “khwan” (ขวัญ) on the human head, a symbol of life force, spirit and the bonds between people.

  2. 02

    The square form

Stands for the interlaced weaving of fabric fibres and bamboo — from the soft, flowing quality of cloth to the strong, resilient character of woven bamboo ware.

  3. 03

    Curves

Curves that become part of one another represent the ever-moving change of Isan people and culture, and suggest the shape of a “gate” — for a warm journey home, or setting out to seek new experiences unlike the old.

The E-SAN GATE — a gateway to Isan, open wide for people to discover stories, meaning and new experiences of life.

How we design

Universal Design

Step-free routes, accessible toilets and clear wayfinding — so every age and every body can move through the village comfortably and safely.

ESG at the core

Environmental care (kept trees, EV charging, low waste), real value for the local community and farmers, and transparent project governance.

Pet Friendly

Open-air spaces and shops that welcome visitors travelling with pets — so the whole family, furry members included, can walk and spend time together.

VISITOR SERVICE CENTER

THE E-SAN GATE is designed as a Visitor Service Center — an all-in-one check-in, service and rest point for travellers visiting Khao Yai. The project’s name reflects the roots of Thailand’s Northeast, decoded through the letters E-S-A-N to signal a new image of conservation-minded tourism.
